With its low wooden frame and nautically evocative rope seat and backrest, Mathias Steen Rasmussen's innovative MR01 Initial lounger has been crying out to be taken outdoors since its inception.

While the frame of the indoor edition is made of oak or walnut, the MR01 Initial outdoor chair is made of FSC® certified iroko. This wood has proven ideal for Rasmussen's design, maintaining its strong silhouette during the transition to the outdoors and helping to emphasise the sculptural quality of the MR01 Initial chair.

To withstand outdoor living, the Initial Outdoor Lounge Chair MR01 features a custom manufactured high performance polyester rope. This material is

waterproof, so it's perfect for the poolside; UV resistant, so it won't fade over long days in the sun, which means it won't degrade. An anti-strain core prevents the rope from stretching over time.
