Harry Bertoia's 1952 experiment in bending metal rods into practical art produced the revered Bretoia collection.


The Asymmetric armchair is the most sculptural of Harry Bertoia's 1952 collection of wire chairs. The chair never got beyond a prototype until 2005, when Knoll, with the help of the de Bertoia family, put the design into full production. The Harry Bertoia Cable Collection is among the most recognized achievements of Mid-Century Modern design and a proud part of Knoll's heritage.
