Table Solvay is now called Table S.A.M. Bois. During the years 1941 and 1942, the Ateliers Jean Prouvé planned and executed several interior design projects for a chemical company in France. A multitude of designs emerged from this contract, such as a wooden table that is an example of Prouvé's construction methods: its structural details show the interaction of forces and stresses, as was later the case with the EM Table, which differs from its predecessor by its metal legs. The scarcity of metal during World War II led to the "Table Salle à Manger Bois" being designed with wooden legs, which gave rise to the name Table S.A.M. Bois. The Table S.A.M. - Top: 34 mm thick; solid natural oak wood with oil finish, dark oak stained with a natural protective varnish or American walnut treated with oil.
- Base: legs matching the tabletop, made of solid wood in natural oak with an oil-based finish, dark oak stained with a protective natural varnish or oil-treated American walnut; Tubular steel reinforcement with powder coating (smooth).
