The Bubble series of lamps is composed of variations of an essentially spherical shape and is one of the distinguished and timeless designs of George Nelson. The Nelson Ball Wall Sconce is designed with a pivoting hinge and an adjustable cable with plug, which allows easy movement of the screen without the need to readjust it to the wall.

In 1952, a set of Swedish pendant lamps burst into the American market and George Nelson was so impressed that he wanted one for his office. His high price prevented him from buying one, but it also inspired him to design his own lamp. The result was a series of lamps with elementary and spherical shapes, such as a rounded apple, an elongat

ed cigar and a well proportioned pear, among others.

George Nelson was an American architect, designer and writer who had a great impact on the world of design during the 1950s. He is known for his work at the firm Herman Miller, where he designed some of the most iconic furniture of the era, such as the Pretzel chair, the Marshmallow chair or the Ball wall clock. He also excelled in interior design and architecture, working on renowned projects such as the Life magazine office and the Good Design exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. George Nelson is also a critical thinker and prolific writer on design and architecture.
