In 1949, Charles and Ray Eames designed an innovative system of freestanding, multifunctional shelving and desks. Like the Eames House, built simultaneously, these designs complied with the principles of industrial production: we are talking about the Eames Storage Unit (ESU) and the Eames Desk Unit (EDU). In collaboration with the Eames Office and Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, a carefully defined new color palette was chosen to give the ESU and EDU a fresh, contemporary look while maintaining the spirit of the 40s and 50s. The ESU Bookcase is narrower and is only available in a standard height. Material:
- Metal surfaces: black powder coating.
- Shelving: birch veneered lamina
