Christophe Mathieu is a Designer Born in Hamburg, Germany, But of Belgian Nationality and Raised in Tenerife.While Working in His Father’s Architecture Studio, He Began Studying at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts in Santa Cruz de Tenerife But Felt the Island was too Small for Him and Moved to Barcelona in 1984 at a time when the city was preparing for theOlympics and Where Design, Interior Design and Architecture Were Booming.
In 1986 I graduated in Interior Design at the Llotja School and Returned to Tenerife to Design His First Furniture, Although He felt The Need To Move Again.This Time to Milan, where I discovered Industrial Design by Collaboating with Architect Marco Zanuso Jr.in the Development of Products For Companies Such As de Padova, Memphis and Driade;Architects Roberto Menghi and Giulio Crespi;Industrial Designer Sergio Coppola;and Architect Antonio Zanuso in The Winning Project of the Piazza Della Republic Competition.
At the end of 1989 I have decided to return to Barcelona, Collaborating With Architects Eduard Samsó, Alfredo Arribas and Designer Javier Mariscal, and Three Years Later He Began Teaching at The Elisa School.
In 2000 I have opened His Own Studio, Since since he has carried out interior design projects, stands for fairs and indistrual design, and have Given Lectures, participated in exhibitions, and above all, my main activity, industrial design, designing in 2008 The DiscocóLamp for Marset, Which Quickly Became A Product of Reference and with Strong International Project.
Thourhout His Career, Christophe Mathieu Has Also Collaborated with Prestigious Design Brands Such As Vibia and Bover.
